Shower Screen Glazing Channels

Sometimes known as a shower screen wall channel or floor channel, a U-channel is one of the most cost-effective solutions for showers, baths, wet rooms, and more.

Anywhere you need to fix an 8mm–10mm thick glass panel with a secure seal, one of our 1200mm or 2400mm long aluminium U-channels could help you get the job done.

Not only does this material promise durability and longevity, but you can also benefit from a selection of attractive finishes to suit your décor preferences. These include brushed or polished finishes in silver chrome, brass nickel, or matt black or white.

While no glass drilling preparation should be needed, please note that unless your screen is precisely 1200mm or 2400mm in length, your glazing channel will require cutting to the right length, whether it’s silicone-fit with sealant or gaskets.

How are shower glazing channels installed?

After drilling holes to insert fixing plugs, a shower U-channel is typically screwed to a wall or floor surface (e.g. tiles), then the glass screen is inserted into the channel and secured with either silicone sealant or a gasket to achieve a perfect fit.

You should note that while pre-drilling holes in the glass panel usually isn’t needed for this type of glazing channel, the U-channel itself will require cutting to a suitable length for the panel you’re planning to mount.

Please also note that while some glazing channels may be supplied with plastic packers, the fixings are usually not included, meaning you must source these elements yourself separately (ensuring they’re the right fit for your chosen U-channel).

Whether you go for silver, brass, matt black, or white, your shower channel will provide a slimline look while keeping water inside the showering area (and out of the channel).

This means you may be able to use them for floor-mounted or wall-fixed panels like glass partitions, both indoors and outdoors, depending on the product specifications.

In any case, unless they’re already the length you’re looking for, U-channels will still require cutting to size to ensure they fit the glass panels perfectly.
